The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kogi State has blasted former party chairman, Kingsley Temitope Ogga over his plan to bring chaos into the party through frivolous law suit and unguarded public utterances.
The party said Kingsley Ogga’s decisions to drag the party to court over the ongoing merger talk with other political parties coupled with his utterances was uncalled for; as he was no longer a member of the party, and cannot speak or take position for the party.
Kogi State Chairman of the Africans Democratic Congress (ADC), Comrade John Adaji who made this known on Friday while speaking with newsmen in Lokoja said Kingsley Ogga was not only suspended but fully expelled from the party.
“Kingsley Temitope Ogga was suspended in 2022. A vote of no confidence was passed on him by his ward executives on August 25, 2022, where he was subsequently suspended.
“The ward executive also transmitted a letter of his suspension to the LG executive and the state executive on September 9, 2022. The state executive at its meeting on Monday, October 31, 2022 ratified the suspension. 13 out of the 15 state executive members ratified the suspension.
“Mr Kingsley Ogga’s suspension was due to various anti -party activities, gross misconduct, unguarded utterances aimed at bringing the image of the party to disrepute, attempts to distabilise our great party through undue negative publicity in contravention of Article 6, section 1, 2 and 4; Article 22 section 6 and Article 32 which deals with the Oath of office.
“Other offences are the embezzlement of money meant for the Ward office accommodation; misappropriation of fund for the 2022 primary elections, and non payment of wards dues.
“The process of joining a party is through the ward level, same goes for the process of exiting a party. Having followed all these processes from the ward level that led to his expulsion at the state level, his (Kingsley Ogga) recent court suit challenging the National Chairman, Ralph Nwosu from undertaking the Merger Talk with other political partis is like building nothing on nothing.
“The situation displayed by Ogga is like a Ghanaian citizen sueing a political party in Nigeria, whereas he’s not a Nigeria left along suing a party.”
Adaji said the party would have not bothered to respond to Oggah’s antic, which they believed is just a means of scoring cheap popularity, “We deem it fit to make this public response in order for the innocent public not to be deceived by a character such as Kingsley Oggah. And also to set the record straight.”
