The Kwara State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has confirmed that a 400-level student from Prince Abubakar Audu University, Ayingba, (PAUU), Kogi State, who had been abducted, has been found wandering naked in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The 19-year-old English Education student, Fauziyah Muhammed, was reportedly kidnapped in Ayingba, between 9.00 and 10.00am on Sunday, hypnotized, and later abandoned in Ilorin.
The incident occurred between 9am and 10am on Sunday.
NSCDC State Commandant, Dr. Umar Muhammed, shared that Fauziyah was discovered by residents of the Ajegunle-Isale community along Egbejila road in Ilorin on Monday morning.
She was found wandering naked, and locals provided her with clothing before handing her over to NSCDC officer Afolayan, who coordinated further support from the command.
The commandant revealed that Fauziyah appeared disoriented, indicating she had endured traumatic experiences during her abduction.
“She was found naked, and some Good Samaritans in the community offered her clothes,” Dr. Muhammed added.
“We have tried to comfort her, and we’ve informed Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, who has promised to assist in sending her back to Kogi.”
In an interview, Fauziyah mentioned she did not remember how she arrived in Kwara State but recalled losing consciousness after dropping one of her books.
The NSCDC also confirmed that it would soon release the victim to one Mallam Salihu Aliu, who has been identified as her uncle and family representative.
