THE Kogi State Police Command have paraded 13 suspected criminals over alleged offences bordering on kidnapping, armed robbery, cattle rustling , illegal possession of fire arms and unlawful possession of substance suspected to be cannabis sativa, amongst others.
The Commissioner of Police CP Hakeem Busari who disclosed this while parading the suspects before newsmen at the state Police headquarter in Lokoja, said the continuous onslaughts against kidnapping , armed banditry and other heinous crime in Kogi state have continued to yield positive result through the effort of Police special operatives attached to Operation Puff Adder.
Amongst those paraded include one Mohammed Abubakar who was arrested in connection with the killing of a Police Servant at Isanlu area command in Yagba East.
The Commissioner of Police said the suspects and his gangs of four armed robbers now at large attacked Police personnel attached to Isanlu area command along Aye/Jagula road in Yagba East area of Kogi state and killed Sergeant Kareem Ismaila.
He added that the suspect who is from Abugi was arrested at Ikole by operative attached to operation puff adder.
Also paraded are Emmanuel Bello, Jafaru Jimoh, Idowu Salami, Suleiman Mohammed , Abdulmalik Abdulrasheed and Issac Adekanmi Ogundare were arrested for armed robbery along Lokoja-Okene highway while Saidu Ori was also arrestes for robbery at Obajana . One locally made pistol, cartridges and jack knife was recovered from them.
According to him ” Bashir Oyetunji and Mohammed Danjuma Usman and Arome Paul were arrested for been in possession of unlawful fire arms”
While assuring the general public of adequate security of life and property during the ember months, the Commissioner of Police appealed for more support from the people to enable them discharge their duties effectively.
