The Kogi State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ) Kogi State Council, Alhaji Adeiza Momohjimoh on Tuesday revealed that the 2023 edition of press week of the union would begins on Friday, 11th August with juma’at prayer.

disclosed this at a press conference held in Lokoja to herald the week long activities of the union .
He said the Juma’at prayer will be followed with a Christian prayer on Sunday, the 12th of August while Monday the 14th is set aside for road walk for members of the Union to exercise and keep fit for their health benefits.
The Chairman said the grand finale of the Week comes up on Wednesday, the 16th of August with a public presentation of a book titled: Media Development In Kogi State (1991-2023).
The book, according to him is essentially put together to give an overview account of how the media industry has fared in Kogi State since its creation.
“The 324 page book will be most useful to communications students in tertiary institutions as well as useful to Journalists, media researchers and the reading public.
“Notable Kogites which have impacted positively on thier various communities and people have also been selected by the Council for the Union awards.
“The awardees are: The Olu Ade of Ekinrin-Adde, HRM. Olu Anthony Bamgbaiye, CON, and renowned Chartered Account, the member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem and Alhaji Ahmed Omeiza Abudullahi, OON, a retired Director, State Security Services.
“Others are: Engineer Isezuo Edward Jatto, a renowned Broadcast Engineer and MD/CEO Jatto FM, Okene, Doctor Arome Salifu Chief Executive Officer, Africa Youth Growth Foundation, and Engineer Idah Daikwo of the Federal Ministry of Works, Abuja.
“The State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello is expected as the distinguished guest of honour, while the Rector , Kogi State Polytechnic, Associate Professor Salisu Ogbois the chairman of the occasion.
“Chief Host of the programme is the National President of NUJ, Chief Chris Isiguzo while the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Evangelist Kingsley Fanwo is co-host” he said.
