Justice Ibrahim Shaibu Atadoga President of the Kogi State Customary Court of Appeal died on Sunday.
According to information reaching our correspondent, the late Justice died on Sunday afternoon after a brief illness.
Called to Bar in 1986, he has been in private practice since he was called to Bar, he hails from Omala L.G.A. of Kogi State.
Worthy of commendation is that, Ibrahim Shaibu, who hailed from Omala local government council of Kogi state was instrumental to the creation of the Customary Court of Appeal in Kogi State. When the Customary Court of Appeal was created, Hon. Justice Otta was made president but with less than two (2) years to retirement.
Ibrahim Shaibu Atadoga being the most senior Judge after Otta took over as President of Customary Court of Appeal upon Otta’s retirement.
Recalled that Justice Ibrahim Shaibu Atadoga swore-in Captain Idris Wada as the governor of Kogi state after a controversial court verdict which gives room for two governors in Kogi state as the then Speaker of Kogi state House of Assembly, Hon. Abdullahi Bello was also swore-in as governor by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Nasiru Ajanah.
Meanwhile, the former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris has condole the family of President of Kogi state customary court of Appeal,Late Justice Shuaibu Atadoga.
In a message of condolence to the family, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris expressed shock and dejection over the news of his death.
Alhaji Idris recalled the patriotic roles played by the late President of the customary court of Appeal in 2012,that avoided a serious political lacuna in the state.
He urged the family to take his death as a supreme call from Almighty God,that all and sundry must oblige at an appointed time.
Alhaji Ibrahim Idris prayed for the family to be strong even in death of their late patriach,praying that Allah will reward him with here after .
He prayed for the repose of his soul,and wished the family will bear the irreparable loss, not only to the immediate family,both entire Kogi state.
Alhaji Idris said Kogi state Judiciary has lost a rare gem,praying to God to forgive the deceased all his shortcomings.
