Kogi Information Bureau Chief admonishes Okehi people against violence

The Director-General, Kogi State Bureau of Information Services and Grassroots Sensitisation, Mr. Abdulkarim Abdulmalik has admonished the people of Ihima on the need to eschew violence and maintain peace for sustained development.
Abdulmalik who gave the admonition on Wednesday at a Sensitisation meeting in his Ward, Ohueta in Okehi Local Government Area, said Governor Yahaya Bello believes in peace and has given his best to ensure the safety of lives and property in the State.
He warned that the APC-led administration in the State would not spare anyone irrespective of political affinity found trying to breach and frustrate the hard earned peace and security put in place by the government.
Speaking further, the DG told the people of his constituency to endeavour to reciprocate the Governor’s gesture of appointing him their son, by voting massively for all the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the elections.
“This is payback time, this ward was privileged to be the first beneficiary of Governor Bello’s principle of equity, fairness and justice with my appointment as Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, shortly after he was sworn-in in January 2016,” he added.
The Obobanyi of Ohueta, HRH, Chief Suberu Aliyu Omonori in his speech, warned the people of Ohueta, the various clans and groups that are resident in the area to educate their children and siblings who were violent-prone to desist as anyone caught working against peace during and after the general elections would be dealth with by the law.
“Our people were synonymous with peace and respect for constituted authorities and as such, the Community will resist criminality and violence of any form,” he emphasised.
Earlier, Chief I. A. Jegede in his remarks, urged members of the community to ensure that the forth coming elections were rancour-free adding that history has shown that those who lived by the sword usually end by the sword, ultimately reaping what they have sown.
In a move towards ensuring lasting peace in Ohueta ward in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area, the Obobanyi of Ohueta clan HRH Omonori Aliyu Suberu summoned the peace meeting that cuts across all the clans, other groups and opinion leaders living in Ohueta ward.
