Ahead of Kogi Governorship election, the people of Kogi Central on Saturday trooped out in there thousands to show total support and solidarity to the governoship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman.
However, the governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has assured President Ahmed Bola Tinubu that there will be no violence in the coming election because he is fully in charge of the state.
The venue of the camping rally was filled up with crowd who came from all the five local government areas of Kogi central.
Governor Bello speaking at the rally said, “From Kogi East to Kogi West to Kogi Central. Today, I am in charge. I am assuring you, Mr. President, I am assuring you, our National Chairman, your Excellency, Umar Abdullahi Ghandouje, that in Kogi State, there will be no violence. We are going to win overwhelmingly. We have started it from Kogi East, you saw the crowd, Kogi West, you saw the crowd and today Kogi central.
According to him, Kogi Central is a beneficiary, Kogi East is a beneficiary and Kogi West is a beneficiary from President Tinubu’s administration.
“Today, Nigerians are benefiting from that, your principal. Therefore, anybody, you have given a directive. As a leader of our party, you have blessed our candidates. They are blessed this particular mandate.
“It is an offshoot of your mandate. Anybody within you, anybody outside you, who would want to sabotage your authority, who wants to undermine your authority, will meet this opposition from anywhere here in Kogi State. We are not going to give them any chance at all because they are within you and they are disappointing you already. They are within the system but they want to undermine the system
“I am in charge in Kogi State. Your Excellency, your son, your lawyer son, your dedicated son, your capacity son, in the name of Governor Yahaya Bello a.k.a. the White Lion. I am in charge in Kogi State. Kogi people are not going to allow anybody to truncate it. We are going to follow your footsteps. Let nobody truncate it. Kogi is won by APC. Let nobody truncate it.
He noted Kogi State is APC state, and he is saying all this because he know the work they have done.
“When you hear them talking about salary, they are talking of pre-2016. That means they are living in the past. They don’t know what is happening in Kogi. If they say, Kogi, we have not done anything, it means they are diaspora politicians. So if they are saying nothing is done, it means they want to come and learn and there is no room for learning again
“This is a candidate in the person of Ododo Ahmed Usman. They are well certificated and certified. They are married and they know how to take care of responsibility. They are not coming for ethnic agenda. Ethnic agenda is like racism.
Also speaking, the Minister of Steel, Prince Shaibu Audu who is the Director General Campaign Council for Kogi APC said they are going to win the November 11, Governorship election stressing that the crowd during there campaign across the three Senatorial districts was unprecedented.
He said the mission of the coming governor in the person of Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman is to provide Agricultural Revolution for Koji State.
“There will be massive crop produces across the three Senatorial Districts of Kogi State. So we are here to pursue a Kogi agenda, not an ethnic agenda, which is why I am here. Secondly, Alhaji Ododo is going to built on the legacies of Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello in terms of security. The security architecture in Kogi State is the most resounding and the most formidable security architecture in North Central Nigeria.
Thirdly, there are also going to be massive job opportunities for the people of Kogi State. Also, from the Federal level, the Federal Government is interested in the revitalization of Agiokota Steel Plant.
Speaking, the APC governorship candidate Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman stressed that this mandate is a mandate for the development of the state, and as such, they are coming to build on the legacies of Alhaji Yahaya Bello, under the New Hope agenda of Mr. President.
“I want to assure you that we will continue to run a peaceful campaign. We will continue to run an issue-based campaign, because His Excellency, our leader, has done a lot for us here in Kogi State that we should be able to use to convince and campaign to our people why APC should be the only adopted political party as far as Kogi State is concerned. I want to assure you that we are going to run a campaign that will reflect the unity of our dear state as laid down by His Excellency, l Alhaji Yahaya Bello. I have a mandate. My father, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and my leader, my mentor, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello Ayapelo, has given me a mandate. And as such, you will not see me on social media.
“You will not see me on television for now, because we are not idle. We are very serious and committed people. And the people of Kogi State, they are waiting for me to hit the ground running. Every candidate learns from their father and their leader. I am learning and I will continue to learn from our father, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Dilipu, and my leader, my mentor, my benefactor, His Excellency, Alaji Yahaya Bello. His Excellency, in 2019, won his election not on social media.
