Kogi Guber Eligibility, Natasha Akpoti defeats INEC again at Appeal court.

The Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the last Governorship election in Kogi– State, Barr. Natasha Akpoti on Thursday defeated the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the Appeal Court.
Recalled that the INEC had appealed a federal high court ruling barring the electoral body from disqualifying the SDP candidate for fielding an under age deputy governor candidate.

came up for Hearing before Hon Justices Adamu Jauoro, Emmanuel Agim & M.B. Idris.
Upon hearing of counsel on both sides, Court held that since crux of Appeal was whether the Fed High Court rightfully held that INEC had no power to disqualify Respondent Natasha Akpoti from contesting Kogi Gov. election, which election had been held as at the date of hearing of the Appeal, same was academic, lacking in merit and accordingly dismissed.
