A formidable Socio political pressure group in Kogi state, Okun Rebirth Organization has endorsed the aspiration of Governor Yahaya Bello for another term in office.
In a statement issued in Lokoja and signed by, President Okun Rebirth Organization, Barr. Zacchaeus Dare Michael, said the endorsement is a follow up to the meeting held with the officials of the state government to pledge their allegiance, called on all Okun sons and daughter’s at home and in the diaspora to rally support for the governor for another term in office.
The group disclosed that another term in office, with the collective votes of Okun people is what can guarantee a power shift to the Western Senatorial district, called on all traditional rulers, opinion moulders and people of goodwill to support for another term the aspiration of governor Bello.
While noting that Governor Yahaya Bello was a divine governor, having assumed office by divine Providence, says it now behoves on the people of Okun nation to fully support his second term bid, by voting for him massively, so that in future the agitation by the Okun nation to be governor would receive support of the Central and East.
The Organization described the tenure of Gov. Bello as rewarding to the Okun nation, said the area enjoys juicy appointment of the SSG, Commissioners for Finance, Agriculture, Women Affairs, Commerce and Industry, Special Adviser on Security, DG Media and others in the past that have eluded Okun people.
According to the Organization, the present administration has recognized Okun sons who were hitherto forgotten and given appointment, described the governor as highly detribalized, and has united every segment of the state.
While acknowledging that the yearning and aspiration of the people may not have been fully met under the present administration, Barr. Zacchaeus Dare Michael, President Okun Rebirth Organization, described the administration as one that was critically challenged by hiccup of past administrations and also limited by funds.
The Organization however commended Gov. Yahaya Bello for his ability to navigate troubled challenges, yet was able to offer quality and acceptable governance within available resources.
The President Okun Rebirth Organization assured that another term in office for Governor Bello would enable him consolidate on the gains and build a new Kogi state of our dreams, described the reelection of the governor as the easiest route to having an Okun governor in future.
The organization commended Gov. Bello for his efforts in curbing the insecurity in Omala, pointed out that his massive investment in Security stands him out.
