Kogi state government has once again been favoured by the World Bank as it received $5 million for achieving 90% of the budget implementation procedure as at November, 2020.
The Deputy Governor of Kogi state, Chief Edward David Onoja disclosed this at a one day broad senitization town hall meeting organized by NEPAD/APRM in Lokoja Kogi state.
He said the money was released by the World Bank to the state as its prize money for establishing a fiscally sustainable policy.
The Kogi state commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Hon. Asiwaju Asiru Idris confirmed the receipt of 1.9 billion naira by the state government.
Similarly, the commissioner explained that the World Bank money was earned by the state for been reliable and responsive to COVID 19 through an amended COVID 19 responsive 2020 budget.
The commissioner thanked the World Bank and other stakeholders for the gesture.
