Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Wemi Jones, FCIB, has commiserated with the families of those who lost their lives in the Tanker explosion that occurred at Felele on Wednesday.
A statement by the Commissioner on Thursday in Lokoja, described the incident as sad and very unfortunate and expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families that lost their loved ones in the inferno.
The Commissioner specifically expressed grief and sadness over the loss of some promising school children in the inferno, and sympathised with their parents and guardians.
Jones lamented that the unfortunate incident happened at a time when parents and school buses were expected to covey their wards to school, saying it was so sad.
The Commissioner assured that Government would not relent in its efforts to forestalling future occurrence of such unfortunate incident.
He urged the families of those that lost their children and loved ones to take solace in the fact that as parents they were able to deliver their responsibilities as guardians, fathers and mothers in sending their children to school before the unfortunate incident cut short their dreams.
”As Ministry and Government, we are with you and share in your griefs at this trying moment”, he said.
