Stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress, (APC), in Idah Local Government Area of Kogi state have appealed to the leader of the Party in the state and Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, to address the continued marginalization of old Egah district in elective and appointive positions.
The chairman of the Elders council, Alhaji Sule Ukwaja and the forum of GYB connect made the appeal on behalf of some stakeholders of the party while addressing newsmen in Lokoja.
According to the group, “we the stakeholders deemed it necessary to use this medium to reach out to His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, who doubled as APC leader in Kogi state, that since our representatives from Idah Local Government Area ,Hon. Haruna Idoko, SA on legislative matters as well as the member representing the constituency in the Kogi state House of Assembly, Hon Suleiman Atajachi could not deliver the stakeholders resolution on the consideration of old Egah district to produce the next candidate for chairman of the council,” hence our decision to convey our feelings to you.
The stakeholders also appealed to his Excellency to look at the district that is empty for now, to ensure equity, justice and fairness.
“In Idah LGA, we have ten political wards and three districts, which are; Idah native town , old Egah , Ichala Districts.
“Present position housed by the district are as follows; Idah Native town district; Special Adviser (SA), on legislative and Assembly matters
“Old Egah District comprising of 4 wards has no position.
“Ichala Edeke District, House of Assembly Member ,Hon. Suleiman Musa Atajachi.
“The above analysis shows that two other districts have already benefited except the old Egah district.
“The APC stakeholders of Idah LGA made it clear that they are not against His Excellency’s wish to choose or endorse anybody. Our prayer and cry is that He should consider old Egah District also. The candidate should be a Bonafide member of APC as the two positions in Idah LGA are occupied by decampees from the opposition PDP.
