Miss. Motunrayo Rafiu the law school student who was kidnapped along Kabba-Obajana road last week Tuesday and four others have been released by their abductor.
It was reliably gathered on Sunday that they were released on Saturday after some on disclosed amount of ransom was paid.
It was gathered that Motunrayo Rafiu, who recently graduated from Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, was on her way to resume at the Abuja campus of the Nigerian Law School when she was kidnapped along with four others.
Also released is Ayo Meseko junior brother to members of staff of the Kogi State House of Assembly Service Commission, Hon.Duro Meseko.
Mr.Ayo Meseko who was kidnapped along with four others on Kabba – Obajana road on their way to Lokoja, spent five days in the hands of his adductors before his eventual release.
Confirming the report, Hon Duro Meseko, a former member of House of Representatives expressed his appreciation to God for making it possible for his younger brother to return alive and thanked the Chairman of the Commission, Alhaji Andas Abdulmalik, Permanent Members and staff of the Commission, the Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon.Mathew Kolawole and the Staff of Kogi State House of the Assembly for their support and prayers.
Hon. Meseko while narrating efforts made to get him release and his ordeal with the Kidnappers called on the Security Agencies in the state to ensure more of their presence in areas indentified to be flash points where these criminals carry out their nefarious activities.
According to him, before Osokosoko to Obajana axis of Kabba- Lokoja road, needs more of Nigeria Police and Military check points to put an end to incessant cases of armed robbery and kidnapping.
Meanwhile, the Kogi State House of Assembly Service Commission, Chairman of the Commission, Alhaji Andas Abdulmalik, has felicitated with the Commission Permanent member, Hon.Duro Meseko on the release of his younger brother, Mr.Ayo Meseko from the hands of his kidnappers.
When contacted, the Kogi State Police Command Public Relation officer, DSP William Aya said his office is yet to get any information from Kabba Police Division on their released.
