This might be a trying moment for the All Progressive Congress as all may not be well with the party in Kabba district of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State as one of the members of the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission, Hon. Funsho Olorunfemi a Chief may have taken over the leadership of the party as it has become evident that all decisions of the party in the recent time are being decided in the palace.
Information reaching our news desk confirmed that the Chief is head bent to lord his candidates across the 9wards, including the vice Chairman slot available for the district.
Sources further confirmed that several meetings were held in the palace on Saturday and Sunday where both the party leadership and the monarch could not agreed on consensus candidates in most of the wards.
Our reporter gathered that Rt. Hon Prince Matthew Kolawole, Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly who should be the leader of the party was helpless as the monarch and Mr Funsho Otu threatened to disorganize the party if they fail to consider their candidates.
Some political pundits who don’t want their names in print described the direct involvement of the monarch and SIEC member as an aberration, stressing that the party may go to extinction in the district due to the activities of the royal father and his collaborators.
They further said it is ridiculous for the person of the status of the chief who should be seen as father for all are already taking side in political decisions which potent a great danger for the community and Okunland at large.
They called on the government and the people of Kabba community to rescue the revered stool of the Chairman of Okun Area Traditional Council from being destroyed as the situation is becoming worrisome.
Many of the party members who expressed their reservation were surprised to hear that the Chief and SIEC member, Funsho Olorunfemi were in government house today to submit their own list of APC candidates in the forthcoming Local Government Elections in the state.
