Hunters attached to Okene local government area of Kogi state late hours of Wednesday have rescued three kidapped victims from the kidnappers, but lost one of their member during the operation along Okene-Auchi forest.

Special Adviser to the Chairman
(Media & Publicity), Abdulmumin Abubakar and made available to newsmen in Lokoja.
The hunters had requested and secured approval from the Council Chairman Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad to embark on rescue operation at Eretuba forest along Okene-Auchi road after credible intelligence of their location from the locals.
The victims, an indigene of Osun state were kidnapped on 18th of this month along Okene/Ogori-Magongo road.
The statement added that the operation by the professional hunters was successful as the kidnapped victims were rescued unhurt while the kidnappers escaped with various degree of bullet wounds.
Weapons recovered include locally made guns, charms, rustled castles and other items were also recovered.
Sadly, one of the hunters was killed during the operation and he has since been buried in accordance with Islamic injunctions.
Hon. Abdulrazaq sympathized with the family of the hunter that was killed and assured the hunters of government continue support and determination to rid criminal and criminalities from Okene local government.
The council chairman has since provided logistic arrangements for the victims to reunite with their family.
