Nigerians has been charged to make education as a driving force to liberate the families from the shackles of ignorance, under development , poverty as well avenue for individuals realising their potentials in life.
This call was made by Dr. Idris Omede, Former NMA and APBN, President, as well Kogi governorship aspirant during the elaborate reception to honour Dr Mrs Hajiya Aisha Mohammed Shakur, who bagged Doctorate degree in Policy Analysis, from the University of Abuja, at Chida International Hotel Abuja.
He commended the husband of the celebrant for championing and encouraging the wife into attaining greater feat in the field of education, inspite of family pressure and stress of undergoing such a gigantic academic exercise.
Dr Omede said many homes and families should emulate the good virtues and courage of the young family, on their determination into attaining the most revered cradle of education in life.
Omede described education as a lasting legacy that will transform the dreams of individuals into fruition in life, advising parents to scramble to bequeath education on their children in life.
The governorship hopeful congratulated the awardee and the husband for been on the same page, that culminated into realising this feat by the family, praying for a better opportunity that will allow her to showcase the art of studies in her field during her life endeavours.
Idris promised to make education as the highest priority and compulsory when elected as the Governor of kogi state in November this year.
He said education is the pride of a common man, urging wealthy and well to do individuals to contribute their own quota by supporting those required to either attain or advance the course of education in life,saying an educated family, is a liberated family.
Speaking at the occassion, the head of the family of the celebrant, Alhaji Mohammed Shakur Yunusa thanked the large number of people that turned out to celebrate with them on the new feat, saying he is overwhelmed by the large number of people present at the occasion.
He prayed that Almighty God will honour individuals present at the occassions and also grant their heart desires in life in the course of their sojourn.
Highlights of the occassion include, the reading of the citation of Hajiya (Dr), Mrs Aisha Mohammed Shakur, cutting of cake to mark the occassion,and treating the guests to sumptuous reception that made the program more lively.
Dr Mrs Shakur is a senior staff of Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria(FAAN), Abuja.
