Group rally round Gov. Bello for second term.

group under the auspices of Progressive Youths Mandate of Nigeria  ( PYMN) an affiliate of All Progressive Congress ( APC) has called on well meaning citizens of Kogi state to rally round governor Yahaya Bello to actualise his second term ambition so as to complete  lives  transformation programmes of the administration.

In a world  Press  conference held in Lokoja, on Thursday, the  coordinator of the group Barrister  Marvel Odiedi stated that after extensive consultation with stakeholders, the group has come down to kogi state to show him , that the group is  solidly queueing behind him.

Barrister Odiedi noted that the mission of the group which  is  among other things is to  inspire and raise a new generation of youthful leaders responsible to the building of a new progressive and great Nigerian Nation’s State.

According to him, as the primary election of APC draw closer, it has become important to raise the consciousness of our people to give maximum support  to the governor Yahaya Bello.

”  We want to affirm to the general public that Yahaya Bello deserves another term in office following his unprecedented developments in the state.

”  It is on record that before the ‘Not Too Young To Run Bill’ was drafted and passed in to law, Gov. Bello had already filled  his government with young men and women thereby making Kogi the most youth-friendly state in Nigeria.

” Similarly, our support for Yahaya Bello is hinged on the fact that Kogi State is among the few states in Nigeria that have not taken any loan for the integrated development of the state which cuts across the three senatorial districts.

” It is also importan to note that before now, the re-current expenditure of Kogi State budget used to be between 80 – 90 percent because of political god-fatherism, ghost waters, dysfunctional civil service system, diversion and embezzlement of public funds among others.

“The civil service reform policies and pragmatic leadership skills of Gov. Yahaya Bello, Kogi State capital expenditure is now more than it’s recurrent expenditure thereby making funds available for physical developments and human capacity building and development of the state” He informed.

He added that the governor’s managerial acumen was brought to bear on the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) as it rakes in more than three times of what he inherited making the state to maintain enviable heights among the states in Nigeria.

The coordinator hinted that the  good governance initiative that  the governor adopted  has brought peace and stability to the state thereby making it the only state that is immuned from the crisis and conflicts ravaging the entire North-Central region.

” We therefore express confidence in the ability of Gov. Bello to take the state to the next level of good governance. It is said that one good turn deserves another, our group ‘Progressive Youth Mandate’ hereby endorse the re-election bid of Gov. Bello.

” We are taking this bold step because of  his  giant strides which  practically led to the rebuilding of Kogi state. It must be noted that despite the fact that Kogi is at the bottom of states on the ladder of statutory federal allocations, yet Governor Bello has succeeded in achieving much with the meagre resources.

” Despite the series of attacks and distractions from selfish politicians who have decided to turn the people against the Governor, he has remained focused in delivering his promises  to the good people of Kogi state.

While  asking for the support of all kogites for the governor, said , he has delivered the state from the menace of kidnapping, armed robbery, fulani herders attack and other violent crimes,of  which he  had won several awards adding that the administration has made tremendous inroad into massive roads construction and rehabilitation across the 21 Local Government Councils.

He added that the foray of the governor in the last three and half years has transformed the hitherto moribund health sectors with injection of funds into the  primary heath care that has reduced infant and maternal morbity and mortality second to no states  in the North Central Zone.

He explained that the roads across the state which were in bad shape before his administration are now wearing good  looks as no local government areas is left untouched even as the education and Agricultural sector have been receiving the governor’s ami,’attention.
