A political group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos State chapter, The Progressive Grand Alliance on Wednesday condemned in strong terms the alleged comments of Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, representing Ikeja Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, against the leadership of APC in Lagos.
A spokesperson for the group, Lanre Adaramola in a statement made available to Daily Independent, alleged that the federal lawmaker accused the leadership of the party of being self-centred.
The statement reads partly read, “The member of the House of Reps in Ikeja has derided the leadership of the APC in Lagos State particularly the National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the GAC members in Lagos State.
“In his words, Hon Faleke wrote: “I believe all cravings of political leaders should be geared towards this goal rather than seeking self or family aggrandizement or seeking only the advancement of our biological children and or siblings at the expense of those of the core politicians who remain committed to our cause and that of the party.
“He said this in a statement while apologizing to his team after losing out on the Chairmanship bid of Ojodu and fielding a candidate with forged WAEC certificates.
“Faleke said: ‘Recall that Asiwaju is the National leader of APC, his wife Oluremi is the Senator representing Lagos Central and her sister Lola Akande is the Commissioner representing Ikeja after having served as MHA for 3 terms. His daughter is the Iyaloja General of Lagos, his nephew, Damola represents Ikeja in the House of Assembly Const 2.
Lai Mohammed, currently a Minister and a former Chief of Staff in Lagos state has his son representing Ikeja Const 1.
Alhaji Tajudeen Olusi, the leading GAC member has his son as Chairman of Lagos Island L.G.
‘Hon Oladele Ajomale’s son was defeated at the general elections in 2015, if not, he would also have been a member of the State Assembly while his father was the sitting state chair of the party.’
“Obviously referring to Asiwaju and other GAC members, Faleke has forgotten so soon he was a mere dog seller in Ojodu and a political neophyte when Odunmbaku, his area father, picked him up and made him sole administrator, LG chairman twice and now third time House of Reps member.”
