Kogi State State Governor, Yahaya Bello Inaugurates Hon Justice Abdulkarim Aikoye Aruwa as Grand Qadi, Sharia Court of Appeal, Kogi State.
The governor said appointment, confirmation and inauguration of the New Grand Qadi was in line with section 275 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.
Gov Bello made the appointment of Justice Aruwa on the 13 of May, 2019 in accordance with section 276 sub section 1 of the Nigerian Constitution of the Fed Republic of Nigeria on the recommendation of the NJC following the exit of the former grand qadi, Justice Idakwoji.
His appointment was confirmed by the state House of Assemblyon the 15 of May, 2019.
The governor charged Justice Aruwa to execute all functions of his office with the fear of Allah while promising that the Sharia Court of Appeal shall move to her permanent Site with increased subvention to enhance the smooth operation of the Court.
In his remarks, Justice Aruwa thanked the governor for the speedy legal processes adopted in his appointment, confirmation and inauguration today.
