In an effort to keep Lokoja the state capital and other major towns clean, the Kogi state government has evolve plans to relocate beggars and destitute from the street of major towns in the state.
The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Fatima Buba Kabir disclosed this, while speaking with Reporters in her office.
She was, particular, on beggars and destitute over places like the paparanda square, the post office and the NTA roundabout, which she said would be first to be sensitised.
She said this development would only come after proper sensitization have been carried out.
She said the Ministry has deplored sensitisation tools to enlightened the beggars and destitute on the need to vacant the streets.
The Commissioner who said destitute and beggars are human being like us and also have fundamental human rights, thus the Ministry is going to take it lightly with them and not the use of brutal force.
She added that her Ministry would work in collaboration with the ministry of environment to check mate this menace in other to have a better Kogi State.
The Commissioner went on to praise the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello for bringing positive change into the State.
