The Forum of Political Appointees who served under the administration of former Kogi State Governor Idris Wada has conferred a new nickname on the current Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo.
The Governor has been dubbed “Talk N Do,” a pointer to his reputation for fulfilling promises made to the people of Kogi State since his assumption of office.
In a press statement issued in Lokoja by a prominent member of the Forum, Hon. Austine Alaba Medaiyedu, popularly known as “Sons and Daughters,” the group extolled Governor Ododo’s commitment to integrity and service delivery. “Governor Ododo has consistently demonstrated that he is a man of his word.
His pronouncements are not mere rhetoric but actionable commitments that he executes for the betterment of the people,” the statement read.
The Forum noted that in his ten months in office, the Governor has matched every promise with concrete action, solidifying his reputation as a leader with unwavering integrity and dedication to public welfare.
This consistency earned him the Yoruba nickname “Owibesebe,” which translates to “Talk N Do” in English. The Forum has also urged its members and the broader Kogi populace to adopt similar translations in their respective languages when referring to the Governor.
Highlighting his achievements, the Forum pointed to Governor Ododo’s impactful policies for civil servants and pensioners.
Upon assuming office, he pledged to improve the welfare of civil servants—a promise that is already being realized. Pensioners, who had long suffered delayed payments, now enjoy prompt disbursement of their entitlements.
