THE Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja on Thursday flagged of a free medical outreach as part of activities marking the 20 years of its establishment.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Medical Director, Dr Olatunde Alabi said that the free medical outreach was a give back project to the people in appreciation of their support for the centre over the years.
Alabi said that the centre decided to hold the outreach at the palace of Maigari so as to reach out to indigent patients.
He said that patients will also be given free drugs while those who needed surgery will also be attended to free of charge.
Alabi stated that the free medical outreach will cover free eye screening and glasses, cervical cancer screening, paediatric cases diabetes and blood pressure tests.
The Maigari of Lokoja , Alhaji Muhammadu Makarfi commended the hospital for initiating the free medical outreach for the people.
He also commended the centre for taking healthcare services to doorstep of the people free of charge.
The traditional ruler who was represented by Alhaji Aliyu Yahaya , the Maiyaki of Lokoja congratulated the centre on its 20years anniversary , urging it to keep on serving the people.
