Senator Shehu Sani, has officially dumped All Progressives Congress(APC), for the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).
Sani, a former senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, from Kaduna state, is also an author, play and human rights activist.
He had last month, held a meeting with the 23 PDP Local Government Chairmen at his residence.
The ex-Senator who announced his defection earlier today at a stakeholders meeting where he also declared his intention to run for the governorship of the state in 2023.
Shehu Sani, born on 29 October 1967, is an ex-Nigerian senator, an author, playwright and a human rights activist. He is the President of the Civil Rights Congress of Nigeria (CRCN) & the Chairman of Hand-in-Hand, Africa. He was a popular figure in the struggle for the restoration of democracy in Nigeria.
He has been arrested, faced trial and jailed by successive past military regimes in Nigeria.
He was released from life imprisonment when democracy was restored in Nigeria in 1999. Furthermore, he contested and won the Kaduna Central Senatorial District on the platform of All Progressive Congress on 28 March 2015 but lost his reelection bid in 2019
