The former Ofu local government council administrator in Kogi staye, Hon. Abu Sule Egbiti passed away in Abuja Hospital on Monday morning.
According to family sources, the late administratorslumped three days ago and he was rushed to Abuja for medical care.
The Council Administrator would be remembered for his humility and effort to reposition the infrastructure development of Ofu LGA.
He is survived by a wife and children.
According to the Chief press secretary to Kogi State governor, Muhammed Onogwu, ” fivedays ago; Thursday 24, you spent your entire day in my house rejoicing with me during the naming of my son.
“We were all inside receiving guests and when the rooms became filled, I couldn’t see you again. I thought you’d gone. Hours later, Hassan Abdulrahman told me “Let’s go outside, Egbiti and others are still around fa” I said what? I thought he had gone since. We came out and saw you under the canopy and asked we join you in eating.
“All effort for us to take you back into the room that many people had left proved abortive as you insisted we stay under the canopy . In your words you said “me Na talakawa, let’s us stay here and gist with the talakawa” and we agreed with you. We spent hours in my house discussing a lot of things not knowing that would be your last public appearance.
“Your quick departure from the surface of the earth has once taught me that life and death are one thread, the same line viewed from different sides.
“Death aren’t you shameful? You took a man who couldn’t hurt a fly in full force, you took a man whose infectious smiles killed anxiety and stress in thousands of people who came across him, in a forceful manner, you snatched a man who can best be described as a friend to all and enemy to none.
“On this ugly day of your demise, I am consoling myself and taking heart in knowing that you will be going to a almost unimaginable place, where you will exist with your maker for eternity
“Death, you did not extinguish the light in Egbiti; you only put out the lamp because the dawn has come.
Rest in Perfect Peace, Abu SULE Egbiti. I am heart broken.
