The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers’ Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has urged Nigerians to continue to pray for peaceful co-existence and economic growth of the nation in a bid to foster prosperity and unity among the entire citizenry.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari noted that, “it is the duty of every citizen to always seek God’s guidance for the leaders, stressing that “leaders should also endeavour to prioritize the wellbeing of the masses; the display of loyalty to the nation should be upheld seamlessly by both tendencies.”
He said this in a statement issued by his spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, on the occasion of his 84th birthday anniversary on Monday, April 22, 2024.
The first-class monarch used the occasion of his birthday to pray fervently for peace, unity, and harmony, as well as prosperity for the nation and the entire world.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari further confirmed that, “with fervent prayers for the nation and her leaders, Nigeria is on the verge of economic recovery, business growth, human capital development, and cohesion. We should be more concerned with the things that unite us as a nation rather than dwelling on factors that can cause division and rancor among us. No nation can survive amidst crisis and social vices.
I urge everyone to see Nigeria as an indivisible entity that must continue to wax stronger in the collective interest of everyone. Nigeria is one of the most blessed nations on earth, with numerous gifts that cut across all facets of human endeavours.”
He, however, thanked the people of Ilorin Emirate and beyond for their show of love, fervent prayers, and support at all times, stressing that “the ancient city of Ilorin has remained an exemplary model for others to emulate, bridging the gap between the northern and southern parts of the nation.
The Emir also thanked His Excellency, Governor Abdulrahman Abdurazaq CON, for his relentless efforts towards ensuring the peace, security, and wellbeing of the people of the state.
He extended his appreciation to traditional chiefs and title holders, the Council of Ulama, clerics, groups, and associations, as well as the entire indigenes of the Ilorin Emirate and Kwarans in general, for their unflinching love and dedication to the peace and unity of the state and nation in general.
