The immediate past Speaker Kogi State House of Assembly, Prince Mathew Kolawole has sent a message of felicitations to Muslims on the auspicious occasion of the 2025 Eid el Fitri.
The former Speaker also congratulated Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo and former Gov Yahaya Bello on the Eid el Fitri celebration.
The former Speaker extended his heartfelt message through a statement issued to Newsmen in Lokoja, urged Muslim faithful to use the period for sustain prayers and supplication for the State and Nigeria in general.
In his Sallah message, Prince Kolawole said the virtues of the sacrifice should be sustained beyond the Ramadan by Muslims.
He said the fasting period makes believers appreciate the impact of hunger and be more committed to the hardships of millions who cannot feed themselves.
Prince Kolawole said the spirit of the Ramadan creates a bond of empathy between the haves and have-nots, explaining that compassion “is an important ingredient of our common humanity.”
He also called on Muslims to show greater commitment to peace, unity and tolerance in order to create harmony and understanding in the country.
He enjoined Nigerians, especially Muslims to take advantage of the spiritual rebirth offered by Ramadan to promote love, peace, unity and progress.
Prince Kolawole emphasised the compelling need for all Nigerians to continue to live in peace and harmony as well as offer special prayers for the country.
He concluded by wishing Muslims a wonderful celebration and many more Eid el Fitri celebration in the coming years.
