The death of Kogi elder statesman, Dr. Umar Farouk Abdulazeez has been described as a huge loss to the state.
The renowned medical practitioner passed on Wednesday evening, and will be buried according to Islamic rites on Thursday.
In a statement of condolence made available to journalists, business mogul and philanthropist, Khalifa Abdulrahaman Okene said the deceased has made his mark amongst astute leaders who positively impacted Ebiraland and Kogi State.
Okene described Dr. Farouk as a man of great prominence, reputable for saving lives and carrying the burden of others.
“When you count great men who have impacted Ebiraland and Kogi State, you will find Dr. Farouk on that chart. His contributions to the development of the land and people, have no doubts distinguished him. For this, he is never to be forgotten.
“My heart goes out to his family, fellow kinsmen and the people of the state for the irreplaceable loss. May God grant him mercy and rest his soul in peace. Amen.”
