The Kabba/Bunu APC Youth Vanguard, says Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo, Executive Governor of Kogi State has taken the best decision to compensate Kabba, that is having more Ward’s and voting strength with the position of the Secretary of the about to be Constituted Local Government Executive Council.

issued to Newsmen, described the Governor’s decision as the best decision ever, particularly in compensating Odo- Akete Bolurunduro Ward, the most faithful and reliable Ward that APC has always bank upon to win election in Kabba Bunu LGA.
Reacting to a write up titled: Kabba Youth Coalition Forum Urges Gov Ododo To Respect Arrangements In Kabba/Bunu LGA For Unity, Peace And Progress, signed by one Bayo Ajayi
Coordinator, Kabba Youth Coalition Forum. The Vanguard notes with emphasis that Bunu has in the last 12 years consistently produced the Commissioner from Kabba Bunu LGA not minding that Kabba, without sounding immodest, has more number of votes than Bunu.
The present occupant of the office of the Commissioner from Kabba Bunu LGA, is of Bunu extraction. The district is holding the office of the Commissioner for the fourth consecutive time producing a Commissioner.
Aside holding on to the Commissionership by people from Bunu extraction, a position that is appointive in nature. The State Security Adviser has been in Bunu in the last 8 years. Also the current House of Assembly Member and Special Adviser are from Bunu district.
We therefore view what His Excellency, the Governor has done as a way to justify that, that particular Ward, that is fully APC in Kabba Bunu LGA, a Ward that came first in the overall ratings after the last general and Governorship election is duely compensated to enable them sustain their support for the APC.
Similarly, the person so nominated to be the Secretary for the Local Government is the leader of Odo- Akete Bolurunduro Ward, a decision that would serve as a reward for hardwork, commitment and dedication to the APC.
Furthermore, it is important to place on record that in the tradition of Kabba Bunu LGA, if Kabba produces the Chairman, the Council Leader goes to Bunu. But recalled however that in the last dispensation, the former Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, insisted that both the Chairman and Council leader should come from Bunu, yet nobody said no to his decision because it was the Governor’s decision.
One therefore now wonders why some people would be saying that because Kabba has produced the Chairman of the Council, they also cannot equally produce the Secretary, this is illogical and laughable but mischievous in all intent and purposes.
For emphasis, Kabba has nine Wards against Bunu’s six. One is therefore taken aback when a district that holds unto the Commissioner, the State Security Adviser and the House of Assembly Member, all from Olle okeoffin Ward, one out of the six Bunu Wards, would want to remove the log in the eyes of others without removing the one in their eyes, are more concerned on issues that are mundane and parochial.
There write up which ordinarily lacks merit is not only malicious, frivolous, preposterous, it is laced with mischief with the intent by the author to disunite a people with common good that is hinged on the overall development of Kabba Bunu LGA.
The time to begin to look beyond clannish and wicked politics, but developmental strides politics is what should concern the people of Kabba Bunu.
We therefore call on the brain behind the satanic write up to have a rethink in the overall interest of the people, urged His Excellency, Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo to discountenance their rantings, as they are only proven to be clever by half.
We urge those behind the write up to take Gov. Ododo’s decision in good faith as it will build cohesion, peace, development, unity and togetherness.
