The Vice-Chancellor of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), has congratulated the Governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello over is national honour as,Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) by former President Muhammadu Buhari
In a statement by Balogun Omeiza David, Head, Public Relations Unit of CUSTECH, Osara, described the honour as Nigeria’s second most prestigious order of merit and it is awarded to individuals who have rendered outstanding services to the nation.
“The Vice-Chancellor of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, on behalf of Management, Staff and Students of the University here by congratulates and rejoices with His Excellency, Alh. (Dr.) Yahaya Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State in respect of the conferment of the prestigious honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) by President Muhammadu Buhari (before his exit).
“The Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) is Nigeria’s second most prestigious order of merit and it is awarded to individuals who have rendered outstanding services to the nation.
Engr. Prof. Salawu Sadiku said, “His Excellency, Gov. Yahaya Bello functions as the Chief Executive in Kogi State and his manner of addressing national issues that significantly affects the lives of Nigerians and in the process has distinguished himself a s a true patriot.”
He added that, “Gov. Yahaya Bello patently deserves this award especially in the area of security which stands out clearly as one of his major achievements.”
Speaking further, the erudite Vice Chancellor added that, “The entire CUSTECH, Osara community wishes the governor many more of such accolades in the future as we are highly elated that our dear governor has added his name among the sons and daughters who have done Nigeria proud and worthy enough to be recognized and picked for national awards.
“The onus now lies on us to continue praying to God Almighty to guide and guard His Excellency, Gov. Yahaya Bello to achieve more greatness even as he continues to steer the affairs of Kogi State.”
