The Vice-Chancellor of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu, has made a passionate appeal to eminent personalities and elites in Kogi State to prioritize unity and collaborative efforts aimed at the overall development of the state.

Prof. Salawu made this call today in his office when he received the executives of the Kogi Central Think-Tank Forum, who were on a courtesy visit to the university.

The Vice-Chancellor, while commending the forum for its significant contributions, stated that the wealth of experience possessed by such senior citizens is invaluable for steering the state towards greater progress. He praised the forum members for their continued service to Kogi Central, Kogi State, and Nigeria at large, even after retirement from active public service.

“You have laid a solid foundation through your service in various capacities. I urge you, as respected senior citizens, to continue to lend your wealth of experience and wisdom towards the growth and development of Kogi State, and Kogi Central in particular,” Prof. Salawu stated.

Earlier in his opening remarks, the leader of the delegation, Dr. Haroun Opotu Yussuff, expressed the forum’s profound appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor and his management team for engaging and empowering members of their forum within the university structure. He specifically acknowledged the appointments of Mr. Austyn Onimisi Ochu as the Head of Information, Public Relations and Protocol, and Prof. Emmanuel Ohize as the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology Education.

In his concluding remarks, the Vice-Chancellor specifically pleaded with the Forum members, whom he described as esteemed elders and statesmen, to consistently offer their guidance and support to the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alh. Usman Ahmed Ododo .

Prof. Salawu highlighted that the state would benefit immensely from their counsel, noting that the forum comprises distinguished individuals who have previously held high-ranking positions, such as the Secretary to the State Government, citing the examples of Mr. Stephen Yakubu and Mr. Moses Onivehu.

The University Bursar, Mr John Alaji, Dean of Student Affairs, Engr.Dr. Shehu Shaib and the Head, Internal Audit, Alh.Husssain Muhammed, all joined the Vice Chancellor in receiving the visitors.
