A Frontline Women Leader and Iya Obatala World wide Chief Blessing Agbaje from Iyamoye Ijumu, Kogi State has apealed to the people of Kogi West Senatorial District of the State to give Governor Yahaya Bello a second chance in the forth coming election.
The Women leader in a Press statement in Lokoja noted that the second chance of Governor Yahaya Bello can speedily pave way for Kogi West in the near future.
According to her, ‘the easiest way we can achieve the power rotation is understanding and cooperation between the West and Central Senatorial Districts.’
By so doing, ‘let’s give our total support to ensure the second tenure of Governor Yahaya Bello, when he accomplished it, we can bargain our position for Kogi West in 2023.’
The Iya Obatala expressed her fear, ‘If the governorship seat by chance goes to the East now, I don’t know how soon it will leave there again but if West and Central play the game right now, it’s going to be eleven local government areas versus nine local government against the East.’
She appealed to Okun leaders to play the game with understanding and future at heart as the situation at hand is beyond Governor Yahaya Bello himself.
On the poor performance of the Governor especially not paying of salaries for workers and pensioners, she described it a tragedy befallen the Governor but advised him to learn from history and take a queue from Governor Fayemi of Ekiti State who has done so much to correct those things he was accused of during his first tenure.
Chief Blessing Agbaje solicited the Governor attention to the bad roads and lack of potable water in Okunland adding that these are part of the social welfare the Governor needs to put in place to win the heart of the people.
