The All Progressive Congress won the Kogi Central senatorial district as the Kogi central senatorial candidate, Mallam Yakubu Hossani of APC scored a total votes of 76,120.
Barrister Natasha Akpoti of the Social Democratic Party scored a total votes of 48, 326 to came second while Senator Ahmed Ogembe of the Peoples Democratic Party scored a total votes of 19, 359 to came third.
The returning officer of INEC for Kogi central, Professor Patric Amedu Audu declared Mallam Yakubu Hossani of APC as winner of the Kogi Central Senatorial election having scored the highest votes.
However, in Kogi East the returning officer for the Kogi east senatorial election declared the elections inconclusive because election did not hold in 129 polling units in the senatorial district.

Meanwhile the spokesperson of Kogi State police Command, Mr. William Aya has confirmed that 3 persons were Killed in kogi State during the election.
According to him, 2 persons were killed in Anyigba yown and Odolu town on election day and 1 police orderly to a senior special assistant to kogi Governor, Kabiru Aliyu was killed by gunmen in Okene Town on election eve.
