Sani Bello denies writing BOB sack recommendation letter.
More facts have continued to emerge over the meeting of both warring factions of the Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which held at the National Secretariat of the Party in Abuja, yesterday (Monday).
According to a highly placed source who was part of the meeting and a 5 minute leaked audio of the meeting exclusively obtained by Fresh Insight, the following transpired at the meeting.
The meeting which had in attendance eleven (11) representatives from both the Governor’s camp and Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa’s camp had the following representatives respectively;
On Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s side were Sen. Makanjuola Ajadi, Barr. Kunle Suleiman, Amb Nurudeen Mohammed, Amb. Abdulfatai Yahyah Seriki, Sen. Ibrahim Oloriegbe, Sen. Lola Ashiru, Sen.Umar Sadiq, Hon. Olawuyi Ajuloopin, Hon. Tijani Ismail and the factional Chairman Alh. Abdullahi Sanmori.
While Chief Iyiola Oyedepo Akogun, Prof. Abdulraheem Oba, Hon. Bio Ibrahim, Hon. Saheed Popoola, Chief Sunday Oyebiyi, Sen. Suruk, Barr. Adesina, Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa, Hon. Cook Olododo and Ramat Olaide Abolaji were on Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa’s side.
However, the Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and Honourable Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Alh. Lai Muh’d both led the warring factions to the meeting which was presided over by Governor Mai Mala Buni, the National Caretaker Chairman, also had in attendance the National Caretaker Secretary Sen. John Akpanudoedehe and Chairman North Central Governor’s Forum, Gov. Sani Bello.
According to Fresh Insight findings, the meeting commenced with an opening prayer from Hon. Ganiyu Cook Olododo, the Honourable member representing Ilorin South/East federal constituency of Kwara State at the green chambers of the National Assembly.
Further findings revealed that the trio of Sen. Khairat (Elder sister of the Governor), Mr. Sunday Fagbemi and Hon. Magaji Olawoyin (Leader, 9th Kwara State House of Assembly) were excused out of the meeting before commencement.
According to the source, the “Hon. Lai Muh’d led group demanded to know where the National Working Committee (NWC) derived its power to override the resolution of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party”, a question which was met with stiff silence.
“The Secretary of the party at that juncture denied issuing appointment letter to Alh. Abdullahi Samari, while Governor of Niger State, Sani Bello also denied writing a letter to the NWC recommending the suspension or removal of Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa.
“Gov. Abdulrazaq on his part alleged Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa of always disrespecting him and not according him the regard and respect deserving of his office as the Governor and the leader of the party in the State” the source added
Speaking further the source said “Governor Sanni Bello rose up and denied authoring any letter recommending the suspension or removal of Hon. Bolarinwa from office, our work is still at its foundation stage, there’s no way we could have authored such recommendation. He thereby sought the indulgence of the National secretariat to allow the North-Central zonal leadership of the party to handle the matter and find an amicable resolution to the crisis.
“Hon. Bolarinwa is my friend just as Gov. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq is also my friend, I’ve seen good qualities in BOB and that’s what endears him to me, I want to believe the Governor hasn’t seen those qualities else they can work together.
“I plead for time so we’ll go back home and iron the differences and the outcome of our reconciliation efforts will be pushed to the NWC for further action” the source said.
However, it was unanimously agreed at the meeting that either of the warring groups shouldn’t address the press on the matter, until the grey areas are amicably ironed out and peace returns to the party.
Mrs Stella Oketete, a member of the caretaker National Working Committee said the closing prayer some minutes to 4 to officially bring the meeting to a close.
