The Alliance of Multiparty Members for Muri/Sam’23 (ALL-FOR-MURI/SAM’23) has condemned in strong terms the attack on the convoy of Alh. Murtala Ajaka, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Governorship candidate who was on tour of visits to traditional rulers in the State.
The Group in a statement signed by its Chairman, Engr. Bala Musa, and made available to Journalists in Lokoja, called on the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, to propagate peace and mitigate all forms of ethnic and political violence capable of damaging the lfabrics of unity and life wire of the people.
‘As the Chief Security Officer of the State, it is onus on the governor to ensure the security of lives and property as well as entrench political tolerance in the bid to acquire power by all political office seekers” he emphasized.
The ALL-FOR-MURI/SAM’23 Group also called on the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to carry out an impartial intelligence investigation into the violent attack on Murtala Ajaka’s convoy with a view to putting up security measures targeted at forestalling further and large scale political violence in the State as the governorship election scheduled for November 11, draws near.
The Muri/Sam’23 group also called on the massive supporters of Murtala Ajaka and Sam Abenemi to remain calm and law-abiding in the course of their political activities in the State, harping that “the rising popularity of Murtala Ajaka and Sam Abenemi is an indication of their potential victory at the November penultimate poll.
