ADVERTISEMENT FOR ADMISSION INTO PROGRAMMES IN THE SCHOOLOF AGRICUTURAL TECHNOLOGY 2020/2021 ACADEMIC SESSION

This is to inform the general public that Kogi State Polytechnic has established the School of Agricultural Technology, Itakpe with programmes as follows:
i.Agricultural Technology
ii.Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Technology
iii.Animal Health and Production Technology iv.Horticultural Technology
1.AGRICULTURAL TECHNOLOGY
a.Duration of the Programme
The programme will run for two years (FourSemesters)
b.Status of the Certificate
The Certificate is thesame with all National Diploma Certificates issued by the National
Board of Technical Education, NBTE and can be used for admission into 200 Level (Direct Entry) of any university and Higher National Diploma(HND) in Agricultural
Technology, CropProduction, Agric Economics and Extension, Animal Production, Horticulture and Landscape Technology, Pest Management Technology, Forestry,
Irrigation,etc.
c.Entry Requirement
Five (5) SSCE credit passes must include English Language, Mathematics, Agricultural Science and any two (2) subjects from Economics, Geography and Chemistry.
2.AGRICULTURAL AND BIO-ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY
a.Duration of theProgramme
The programme will run for two years (FourSemesters)
b.Status of the Certificate
The Certificate is the same with all National Diploma Certificates issued by theNational
Board of Technical Education, NBTE and can be used for admission into 200Level (Direct Entry) of any university and Higher National Diploma (HND)in Soil and Water Engineering Technology, Environmental Engineering Technology, Post-harvest Technology, Farm Structures and Construction Management Technology, etc.
c.Entry Requirement
Five(5) SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics and any three (3) subjects, preferably from Biology, Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics, Economics, Commerce, Geography, etc.
3.ANIMAL HEALTH AND PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT
a.Duration of theProgramme
The programme will run for two years (Four Semesters)
b.Status of the Certificate
The Certificate is thesame with all National Diploma Certificates issued by the National
Board of Technical Education, NBTE and can be used for admission into 200Level (DirectEntry) of any university and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Animal Health, Animal Production, Agricultural Extension and Management, etc.
c.Entry Requirement
Five(5) SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics and any three (3) subjects, preferably from Biology, Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics, Economics, Commerce, Geography, etc.
4.HORTICULTURAL TECHNOLOGY
a.Duration of the Programme
The programme will run for two years (Four Semesters)
b.Status of the Certificate
The Certificate is the same with all National Diploma Certificates issued by the National
Board of Technical Education, NBTE and can be used for admission into 200 Level (Direct Entry) of any university and Higher National Diploma (HND)in Floriculture, Landscape Horticulture and Landscape Design, Arboriculture, Pomology, Viticulture, etc.
c.EntryRequirement
Five(5)SSCE credit passes must include English Language, Mathematics, Biology/AgriculturalScience, and any three(3)subjects from Chemistry,Technical Drawing, Further Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Geography,etc.
