The Cross River State Police Command has confirmed the tragic murder of the deputy Commissioner of Police, ACP Egbe Eko Edum.
ACP Egbe Edum is the present Commanding Officer of No. 73 PMF Squadron, Magumeri, of Borno state. He was axed to death in Calabar, Cross River State Capital by unknown set of people.
The Cross River Police Command newsman DSP Irene Ugbo confirmed this to BBC saying That the attack Occurred in during the early hours of Wednesday, 2ND of December, at around 1am In the morning on Murtala Mohammed Highway close to Pepsi Bottling company.
She revealed that the Assistant Police Commissioner who serves in Borno State was returning to Calabar to meet his family, when his car broke down on the Highway.
He called his wife to pick him up that early but before she could reach there, unknown Armed cultist had attacked and killed him with axe. DSP Ugbo said investigation has begun regarding his assassination. She added that his corpse had already been moved to the mortuary now.
