Respite has started to return to the Tawari community as a delegation of Kogi West political leaders visited the community to present relief materials to the bereaved and survivors of the dastardly heinous crime.
The team was led by Kogi APC political leader in Kogi West, Elder Benjamin Olowodola as he was received by the Aguma of Tawari Alhaji Yusuf Tawari.
At the palace which was also heavily raised down, the Aguma recounted the experience and how he narrowly escaped what he described as the most devastating and wicked machinations of yet to be identified attackers.
The Aguma says only God saved his life for a purpose he is yet to know, he said his people since he was born into the community have been peaceful, law abiding and very homogenous but wonder why anyone would want to unleash such terror on the people.
Speaking earlier about the mission of the delegation, the Cordinator of the visit and former Kogi West Senatorial Candidate, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi says they were in the community to mourn with the people and also rebuild the ruins of the community.
He said they have brought Mattresses, Rice, Dawa, Sugar, Ndomie, Salt and detergents that can cater for at least two hundred families in Tawari, he therefore enjoined the people to make judicious use of the items so as to assist them at this trying time.
While addressing the people who came out to receive the delegation, leader of the team and financial of the project, Elder Benjamin Olowodola says they have been part and parcel of Tawari long before now, he says he has supported the renovation of schools in the area and assured that the team have come to put smiles on the faces of Tawari people, especially during their trying period like this, he says that he is ready to lead the movement for the rebuilding of Tawari and assured that he remains their pillar of support at all times.
On his part Hon Ayodele Adeniyi, former Executive Director, Kogi Investment Council says he was most devastated when he received the news of the unfortunate incidence that befell the people, he announced the readiness of prominent people of Kogi State that would be coming in the days ahead to support the people.
Administrator of the local government council Barr. Mohammed Sanni who was on ground to receive the delegation thanked the people for their responsiveness, time and resources spent to assuage the people during their trying time. He says he was overwhelmed with the swiftness, the resources spent and love shown, he assured the delegation of his unrelenting efforts to ensure that the people are resettled quickly.
Later the Aguma Tawari led the delegation round the ruins, bereaved women were seen crying and wailing over the loss of their beloved people. On the entourage for the visit are Alh. Bozy, Mall Tanko Lawal, Dr Bawa Dangana, Hon Kajotoni Bush Doctor, Maiyaki Nagogo Abubakar, Saleh Abubakar Abdallah, Hon Tunde Akanmidu, Alh Da’asebe Garkuwa, Hon Salisu Dantala, Dr Bawa Dangana, Alfa Bababudan, Muhammed Adamu and Idachu Zubairu.
