The Kogi West Progressive Vanguard (KWPV) has reaffirmed that Senator Sunday Karimi remains the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, urging party members and the public to ignore what it described as misleading reports circulating on social media.
In a statement issued the President of the group, Mose Emmanuel, alleged that the reports were sponsored to create confusion and weaken Senator Karimi’s political standing ahead of the forthcoming election.
According to Emmanuel, the campaign against the senator has failed to achieve its objective, just as an alleged attempt to secure a traditional endorsement for another aspirant was unsuccessful.
He maintained that Senator Karimi remains the APC candidate in Kogi West, insisting that no amount of propaganda or misinformation would alter the political situation.
The group called on APC members and supporters to remain calm, united, and focused, advising them to rely only on official communications from the party and other relevant authorities.
KWPV also urged political actors to avoid spreading false information capable of creating unnecessary tension, expressing confidence that Senator Karimi would continue to enjoy the support of APC members and constituents across Kogi West Senatorial District.
