
Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, representing Kogi West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has been honoured with the Award for Legislative Excellence and Distinguished Icon of Grassroots Development and Nation Building at the 14th Annual Lecture and Awards Ceremony of The Exposure Media.
The award was presented during the event held at the National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja, where outstanding Nigerians from different sectors were recognized for their contributions to national development.
According to the organizers, Senator Karimi was selected in recognition of his impactful legislative service and his contributions to the development of Kogi West and Nigeria, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, education, healthcare, and security.
Receiving the award on behalf of the senator, his Senior Legislative Aide, Barrister Toye Ibitoye, expressed appreciation to The Exposure Media for the honour.
He noted that the recognition reflected Senator Karimi’s commitment to improving the welfare of his constituents and advancing national development.
Barrister Ibitoye also conveyed Senator Karimi’s message to Nigerians, urging continued support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He stated that the President was working diligently to address longstanding challenges and reposition the country for sustainable growth.
He further pledged Senator Karimi’s support for The Exposure Media’s office complex project in Abuja and encouraged other award recipients to contribute towards its completion.
Speaking earlier, the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of The Exposure Media, Mr. Olayemi Gabriel, said the award recipients were carefully selected based on merit and outstanding service to society. He emphasized that the awards were neither influenced nor purchased.
Mr. Gabriel also called on Nigerians to unite in tackling insecurity, stressing that peace remains essential for meaningful development and economic progress.
The event, themed “Capitalizing on Credibility: How Transparent Governance and Electoral Integrity Drive Economic and Education Prosperity – The Nigerian Example,” featured discussions by scholars, policymakers, and industry experts on governance, electoral reforms, economic growth, and educational development.
Highlights of the ceremony included the unveiling of The Exposure Newspaper’s ₦150 million podcast studio equipment and the completion of its office complex in Abuja, alongside goodwill messages and award presentations to other distinguished personalities.
