The Kogi State Government has unveiled a Service Charter for selected Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as part of efforts to promote transparency, accountability and improved service delivery in the public sector.

The charter clearly outlines service standards, timelines and expectations, providing citizens with a framework to demand accountability from government institutions.

The initiative was developed through collaboration between the state government and non-state actors, including the Initiative for Grassroot Advancement in Nigeria (INGRA).

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, the Executive Director of INGRA, Hamza Aliyu, commended Governor Ahmed Ododo for supporting initiatives under the Open Government Partnership aimed at strengthening transparency and citizen participation in governance.

Also speaking, the Co-Chairman of the Kogi State chapter of the Open Government Partnership, Idris Muraina Ozovehe, described the Service Charter as a “public pledge” by government institutions to deliver efficient and quality services to the people.

Representatives of the participating MDAs who attended the event pledged their commitment to uphold the principles of accountability and improved service delivery.

The Kogi State Head of Service formally unveiled the Service Charter, describing it as a significant milestone in the state’s effort to institutionalise good governance and responsive public service.
