The Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Ododo has reaffirmed commitment to infrastructural development, assuring immediate intervention on the Takete-Ide-Amuro-Ayede Amuro road in Mopamuro Local Government Area.

Ododo gave the assurance through his representative, Dep. Gov. Joel Salifu, at the 2025 Takete-Ide Day Celebration, held in the community on Saturday.

The governor described Takete-Ide as a land rich in culture, human resources, and heritage, commending the community for its unity and self-help development initiatives.

He expressed appreciation for the community’s production of notable sons and daughters, including Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mr Kingsley Fanwo, whom he praised as a committed and visionary leader.

The governor noted that the Ministry of Works has completed assessments, and major construction work is set to commence on the Takete-Ide-Amuro-Ayede Amuro road.

He assured that the Kogi State Road Maintenance Agency (KOGROMA), has been directed to make the road motorable through grading and filling with laterite.

He also assured the state Government’s support for completion of the Traditional Ruler’s Palace Project.

On remodelling of Government Day Secondary School and GYB Health Centre ongoing; he assured that the furniture has been approved for the school.

The governor emphasised strengthening grassroots security through recruitment of local hunters and Vigilante Service members.

Ododo further highlighted ongoing projects in Takete-Ide, including benefits from the AGILE programme which has empowered youths and schoolgirls.

He reiterated his administration’s resolve to empower youths and enhance security at the community level.

Ododo promised continued support for Takete-Ide’s development, urging community members to preserve their cultural heritage and support President Bola Tinubu’s reforms enabling subnational development.

The event was attended by top government officials, traditional rulers, and prominent sons and daughters of Takete-Ide.

Dignitaries included Commissioners Hon. Timothy Ojoma, Hon. Monday Aridaojo Anyebe, Special Advisers to the Governor, and Chairman of Mopamuro LGA, Hon. Ademola Bello, among others.

Fanwo and National President of Takete-Ide Progressive Union, Mr Richard Fiki, thanked the government for development efforts and appealed for rehabilitation of the Orokere Amuro-Takete-Ide Amuro road.

The celebration featured cultural displays and donations towards the Palace construction, with Senator Sunday Karimi and Prince Olatunji Olusoji donating 5 million naira each.
