The Kogi State Chapter of the Social Democratic Party has assured its teeming supporters that its candidate, Barr. Natasha Akpoti, will be on the ballot in the forthcoming November governorship election.
The assurances to have the SDP on the ballot was made by Dr. Abdullahi Baba Abdul, Director General, Barr. Natasha/Khaleed Campaign Organization in a press conference held in Lokoja, said it has heightened its campaign ahead the forthcoming governorship election.
Dr Abdullahi says it is not unmindful of the orchestrated plans to get the SDP out of the ballot through the backdoor, said the party is strengthened by the fact that INEC lacks the power to disqualify a candidate, as such it will commence vigorous campaign across the state.
The DG called on the party’s supporters to pray for the collective dream of a better Kogi state with the emergence of Barr. Natasha as governor where no civil servant, retiree will contemplate suicide as an option.
The DG assured that the SDP will provide the right leadership to Kogi people in line with the sustainable development goals, urged the people to make history by resisting impunity, as the SDP remains the party to beat.
The DG reiterated that the SDP held a free and fair primaries on 29th August, 2019, in the full glare of INEC, forwarded the name within stipulated time, therefore insisted that there is no need for apprehension, as the party will contest the November governorship election, with Barr. Natasha as the party’s flag bearer.
Dr Abdullahi described the SDP as the new party of choice for Kogi people, little wonder the fear In the minds of those bent on frustrating the good intention of Barr. Natasha whose passion is the wellbeing of the people,  says no one should contemplate not having SDP on the ballot.
