As more communities and groups continue to benefit from the giant community development strides of the State Government through the provision of basic social services facilities in rural areas of Kogi state, the Board of Directors of the Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency has applauded the Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Bello for recognizing the decision of the rural communities and groups in making their choice(s) of their felt needs through the Agency.

Hon. Raphael Okomoda, the Chairman of the Board of Director of the Agency stated this at the media interaction to round up the Semi-Annual Oversight visit of the Board of Directors to completed and ongoing projects supported by his Agency.

Hon. Okomoda also described Governor Bello as an uncommon governor with an extra-ordinary capacity and network for community engagement and consensus building with the interest of the community as paramount. This is evident in the citizens’ acceptance and appreciation of all supported interventions of the state government in his administration.

The Board of Directors were in some project benefiting communities of the Agency to monitor its activities in some local government areas of the state. The three communities visited were Ayede Community (Kabba -Bunu), Kabba (Kabba -Bunu) and Okoro-Gbede community (Ijumu).

The rural communities were elated at what they have received from government under the Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus Programme. According to the communities, they were particularly grateful as all the projects supported from their community development plan are the needs of the communities according to their order of priority.

The project sites visited included the school renovation and motorized boreholes in Okoro-Gbede and a clinic renovation in Kabba with supply of science and ICT equipment to St. Augustins College, Kabba.
The implementation of the Community Development Plan of the Ayede Community was also inspected. The project site for the three projects were visited namely Clinic building reconstruction, school Renovation and a community VIP toilet project.

Commenting on the quality of the ongoing projects, the Board members were satisfied and happy at the level of participation of the community at all the stages of implementation of the Community Development Plans, they also commended the Agency’s General Manager, Chief Dauda O. Momoh for his supervisory roles on the communities which they said was one of the reasons for the good quality of job being executed in all the communities visited.
