The Kogi State Chapter of Institute of Chartered Economist Of Nigeria (ICEN) has elected Nasir Rahman Ichanyi as their pioneer chairman of the institute.
The State Chairman of the professional body who was elected over the weekend has promised that under his watch he would collaborate with the government in in formulating sound economic policies that would have positive impacts on the lives of the people.
In his Inaugural speech he noted that “in the face of the current economic effects of the removal of fuel subsidy, the professional opinions of Economist are invaluable to keep the economic balance between survival and spending power of the people”
He added that “in charting the way forward on measures to put in place to cushion the effects of the economy. We are confident that the application of these times-and-Season-proof economic principles will come in handy to keep the country far from the shores of economic recession”
He further said though the the kogi State Chapter of the institute of Chartered Economist Of Nigeria is relatively new in the state, he and his team are determined to nurture the institute from infancy into a full blown institute to be reckoned with.
He further stated that high level of professionalism shall be deployed to cater for the growth needs of the institute in accordance with world standard.
