Some members of the Kogi State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have rejected the second term bid of the state Chairman, Engr. Sam Uhuotu as the Chairman of the party.
Our reporters gathered that meeting was held in one of the hotel in Okene last week where some members of the party told him point blank to step aside.
According to sources, Engr. Sam Uhuotu conveyed the meeting to plead to his members on the need for them to support him for second term in office.
However, Uhuotu was told by the members to step aside alleging that his four years in office was a doom for the party.
They also accused him of anti party activities as Chairman of the party. Stressing that during the last election, Uhuotu delebrately work for his inlaw who is a member of the All Progressive Congress ( APC) to win house of representative set against the interest of PDP.
According to them, Engr. Uhuotu four years in office is a total waste for PDP in Kogi State following his inactive in office alleging that the outgoing Chairman only visit the state whenever big shot of the party is visiting the state especially during the last presidential campaign period.
They therefore urged him to step aside and allow new person to take over as the state Chairman of the party because they can’t afford to loose the next coming Kogi governorship election again.
