A group in the peoples Democratic party in kogi State, Concern PDP Movement, has warmed against the foisting of the outgoing Chairman of the party, Sam Uhuotu on members of the party who are desirous of a change in the leadership of the party in Kogi State, because of the grave consequences of such a step.

Addressing journalists in Lokoja on Friday, the leaders of the group, Mall Ovayoza Audu and Ihene Achimugu, chairman and Secretary respectively, noted that the almost four years of Uhuotu as the chairman has brought tails of woes disaster and monumental failure to the once vibrant party.

According to the group, Uhuotu and his executive members are more interested in what they can get and not how to add value to the party, which they said led to the monumental failure and disgrace recorded in the 2019 general election in Kogi State where they said the party lost in all fronts.

They therefore called on the Nationl leadership of the party not to bow to the pressure being mounted on them to give the Engr. Uhuotu led executives an automatic ticket, saying that such move would be suicidal to the party that is struggling to return to it’s glorious old days.

“As a group we are not interested in who becomes the Kogi State chairman of the party, but certainly not Engr. Uhuotu. He has failed the party, our party has now been religated to the background . We can’t continue like this. The return of Uhuotu and his group would signal the final burial of our party God forbid.

“We are therefore calling on the Nationl executive committee of our great party to put in place machinery for a free, fair, transparent and credible Congress that would be acceptable to all members of our party. Anything short of this will ignite crisis in the party and subsequently confer on the ruling party, APC an undeserved victory.

The group regretted that after the party was deafeted in 2015, Uhuotu has not convey any meeting in Lokoja, saying except when an aspirant is visiting where they will have something to put in there pockets.

They called on Uhuotu and his group to toe the party of honour by not going into the contest, warning that any form of manipulation during the Congress would be resisted by the group.
