Some angry youths on Wednesday invaded the Secretariat of Kogi local government council over the suspension of the local government council, Mallam Abdulkareem Isah Sanni over alleged criminal involvement while in office.
The Kogi State House of Assembly had on Wednesday suspended Sanni from office as a result of resolution by members of the house when the Speaker of the Assembly Prince Mathew Kolawole read a later from Governor Bello indicting the council boss of alleged criminal activities
However, the angry youths numbering over 50 in number in annoyance invaded the local government council Secretariat and destroyed properties worth thousands of naira while some council officials sustained various degrees of injuries
It took the intervention of security agents to bring the situation under control.
Meanwhile, the Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and natural resources, Engineer Abubakar Bashir Gegu, has expressed total disappointment over an attacked on Wednesday at the Council secretariat by some hoodlums allegedly working for a suspended Chairman of Kogi local government, Hon. Isah Abdulkarim Bala Ecomog, where some council officials sustained various degrees of injuries and properties worth thousands of naira were destroyed.
The Commissioner who condemned the attacked, noted that the security agencies have been brief to intensify efforts with aimed to bring those miscreants at large to book.
The Commissioner urged the people of Koton-Karfe, Kogi LG to remain committed to the cause of new direction government and as well call for calm in the area.
The Commissioner while reacting to the suspension of the council boss expressed deep concerned with the way the suspended Chairman ordered his boys to attacked some serving council officials, his loyalists and APC stalwarts which led to serious injury of the councilor representing Gegu-Beki South, Hon.Abdulmumini Mohammed Ojallah
The Commissioner urged the residents of Kogi LG to go on with normal activities and assured of adequate security of life and properties.
He said the law enforcement agents has already swift into action in order to bring the perpetrators of Dastardly act. He sympathizes with the affected people and calls for calm, assuring them that they will get justice.
The Commissioner equally urged the people of the area to partner with the security agents in order to sustained the ongoing campaign against crime and as well to provide robust security architecture inline with the Administration of Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello.

Global Time Nigeria report that the Kogi State House of Assembly on Wednesday suspended the Executive Chairman of Kogi Local Government, Hon. Isah Abdulkareem Bala Ecomog over alleged criminal conspiracy while in office.
The suspension of council bosd was sequel to a resolution by members of the house when the Speaker of the Assembly Prince Mathew Kolawole read a later from Governor Bello indicting the council boss of alleged criminal activities.
Kolawole in his ruling said the suspension of the council boss will last pending the outcome of the Department of State Service, (DSS) investigation.
He however directed that the Vice Chairman of the Local Government Hasana Jezhi should step in as acting chairman.
