The former Minister of Minister of Police, Humphrey Abba has been suspended from the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
The state chairman of the party, Alhaji Muktar Atimah made this known in a press statement issued which copy was made available to Kogi Flame.
According to him, as the acting State chairman of the party, he has the mandate to reposition the party in the for the forth coming elections and to delivered the state to the party, which they have started by putting in place machinery to see that the party becomes the party to beat.
“It will interest you to note  that our great party the  Social Democratic Party(SDP) has just taken  a painstaking decision at the just concluded NEC meeting.
“On behalf of the state working committee of our great party, l wish to state that the state chapter of the party is in support of the national leadership of the party led by our indefatigable national chairman Chief Olu Falae GCRF, in its decisions, most especially having a working relationship with the APC as regards to the presidential election.
“This does not in anyway mean that we have collapsed our structures from the national to the ward level. We still maintain our identity and it should not be taken that we have merged with any political party, this decision is as a result of the current litigation crisis being faced  by the party.
” I wish to state that in Kogi state we have taken some decisions to enable us cross the hurdle of delivering in the next election. It is the party that is supreme to its members and not vice versa, it is in line with the above that the SWC, ably led by my humble self, wish to suspend the former Minister of Police Affairs in person of Mr Humphrey Abba from the party indefinitely according to relevant sections of our constitution until the report of the  three (3) man committee  setup to investigate allegations leveled against him for anti party activities emerges.
“Humphrey Abba failed to conform in his activities within the party, rather he has been working against the interest of the party for some time now. Most especially as we approach a point that can only  be corrected in the next four years.
He therefore warned all his members that indiscipline has no place in their new repositioned party, as they have zero tolerance to any distraction as we prepare to take over the Lugard house this year by the grace of God.
