Despite Criticisms, Kogi Algon Chairman Sets to Contest for Ijumu LG Chairmanship Position, Unveils Campaign Posters

Despite the torrent of criticisms that greeted the aspiration of the embattled Kogi State Algon chairman, his bid to contest as the substantial Ijumu Local Government chairmanship position, the Ijumu Local government administrator, Hon Taofiq Issah has unveiled his campaign posters to prove his readiness to jostle for the chairmanship ticket of the Local Government Area with other aspirants.
Hon Taofiq Isa who hails from Gbede axis of ijumu local government area of Kogi west was declared unqualified and unfit by oppositions of his aspiration to contest for the position of the council Chairmanship position.
In a stakeholder meeting held by traditional rulers and political leaders across Ijumu Oke axis of the local government, the present Kogi state Algon Chairman and Administrator of Ijumu local government, Alhaji Taofiq Issa was declared unfit by the group to occupy the chairmanship seat of the local government. In a communiqué issued after the meeting, Alhaji Issa was decleared a personal non grata for the chairmanship position because of his antecedents in the past years and owing to the fact that it is not yet time for his axis to contest for the much coveted seat.
The communique read that the action of the Algon chairman negates the principles of the existing rotational arrangement of the Local government, the development was described as alien to Ijumu politics and practices.
In a letter signed by the immediate past senior special assistant to His Excellency on intra party affairs, the communique appealed to the governor to do everything within his power to stop the administrator from destabilizing the agelong rotational arrangement which stands as a banner of peace and unity to the people of Ijumu local government.
In another development, the administrator who has turned deaf ears to the dictate of the traditional rulers and political leaders of the axis, has gone ahead to display his campaign posters for the April 2020 council polls.
The social media of recent, was awashed with series of endorsement of the administrator across the nooks and crannies of the local government, a development which has triggered a heated arguments from friends and foes.
In a reports made by the media Aide of the administrator today, Othman Hamidu, he(Hamidu), while flaunting pictures of young men under the name; Abuja Solidarity Group For Taofiq Isa, said the group donated five thousand (5,000) copies of campaign posters in support of Taofiq for the upcoming election.
Meanwhile, Some political groups are of the opinion that Governor Yahaya Bello should give the administrator a state appointment rather than leaving him to cause disunity in the local government with the chairmanship ticket.
Information gathered, revealed that the governor intends to compensate the Algon chairman with the chairmanship slot for his unflinching loyalty.
However, rumour has it that the Kogi Algon Chairman will step down for qualified and viable aspirants to test their popularity in no distance time.
